Meet Gregg

I love Mequon! When I purchased my first home in 1991 - a 600 square foot home on River Road - I chose Mequon. Yes, there are still small homes available in Mequon! Three years later, my wife and I moved to our current 5th District home, where we raised our two children. Mequon has been wonderful for our family - our kids learned to swim in the Mequon pool, and I spent many years on Mequon fields coaching youth baseball. We live in a great city!

I have been an alternate on the Mequon Plan Commission since 2019. I was also fortunate to be a member of the Mequon Policy Subcommittee responsible for putting together the recently approved Ulao Creek Neighborhood plan for the area between Highland and Pioneer roads and Interstate 43 and Ulao Creek in Mequon’s 5th District. The subcommittee met 18 times to discuss the area and meetings were open to all interested residents. Most of the discussions focused on Port Washington Road development and how it will be different from development on Port Road south of Highland. Going forward, this area will continue to be a very important issue for Mequon and the 5th District. I have been involved in the entire process and am prepared to represent the 5th District on this topic. We will also need to discuss the aging Port Road firehouse and continue to monitor traffic and other issues on hectic Port and Highland roads.

Career History

I recently retired after a 37-year career as a teacher and educational administrator. I was a Middle School principal and an Assistant Head of School responsible for nine large departments including technology, human resources, facilities, security and athletics. My wife Susie taught preschool. My daughter is currently a teacher in Mequon and my son is working with k-8 students in California helping children gain the knowledge and motivation they need to achieve their personal best in sport and life. Our family values education!

Philanthropic and Nonprofit Work

I have had a lifelong dedication to service and community. I am currently the board chair of REDgen, a community organization that advocates for youth mental health and well-being. I recently finished my six year term on the Wisconsin Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Board and was a past board chair of YMCA Family Camp Nawakwa in Lac Du Flambeau. I was also a previous Board member of The Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS).
